The Truist Foundation Fellowship

The Truist Foundation Fellowship, powered by the Watson Institute, is a fully-funded venture and leadership development program designed for entrepreneurs, business owners, and nonprofit founders in Georgia, United States. Fellows receive technical training, enhance their business acumen, and gain financial literacy knowledge, all tailored to amplify their impact within the communities they serve. This Fellowship is specifically intended for entrepreneurs dedicated to serving emerging markets across rural and urban Georgia through job creation and economic development initiatives.

Through this 16-week fellowship, participants gain vital skills in technical training, financial literacy, and business strategy to elevate their ventures and expand their impact in underserved and emerging markets across the state.

Program Overview: Intensive Training and Real World Application

Program Duration: February 2nd – June 12th, 2025
Format: Weekly virtual workshops and periodic in-person gatherings
Virtual Sessions: Held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM ET
In-Person Immersive Event: February 8th, 2025, in Atlanta, GA
Basecamp: Each Fellow organizes a local impact workshop in their community, allowing: Venture showcasing, Participant feedback, Network-building opportunities.

What to Expect: Key Benefits and Community Building

Supported by Truist Foundation funding, Fellows receive a Community Development Stipend to fuel local events, workshops, and initiatives. Throughout the Fellowship, participants will deepen their business acumen and leadership skills, covering topics like go-to-market strategies, data analysis, and team management. Fellows will also receive mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs and participate in the Impact Speaker Series, a collaborative Preceptor Advisory Board, and a “Mentor Bonanza” for in-depth guidance. The Fellowship culminates in a Pitch Training & Summit, where Fellows present their work to an audience of local leaders and potential investors.

Eligibility Criteria;

  • Target Candidates: Entrepreneurs with 1-5 years of business experience and demonstrated community impact
  • Eligibility: Must be over 18, committed to economic development, and in the “Problem-Solution Fit” or “Product-Market Fit” stages of their ventures.

Application Deadline; Priority deadline is January 3rd, 2025; rolling admissions follow until spots are filled.
